Last fall, I was nearing the end of my pregnancy with Keahi and trying my best to prepare for the "engagement season" that takes place at the end of the year, when newly engaged brides would be looking for photographers. As a new wedding photographer, I had a lot of work to do in order to be ready. My website was underway, and I was looking into different advertising sites.
I love this wedding so much! One of the favorite parts about weddings is being surrounded by all of your favorite people. Karlee and Colton let me know that they wanted to focus more on enjoying their wedding and capturing all of the in between moments than traditional wedding portraits.
Two weeks ago, I was able to photograph my brother's wedding. I view my photography as my legacy and the love letters that I would write to my family if ever anything were to happen to me. Being able to be such an integral part of my brother's wedding was such an honor. I was able to be there and capture my new sister-in-law as she got ready for her wedding day, witness their first look, exchanging of rings, first kiss, marriage license signing, first dances.
The Beales wedding was the first wedding of my 2016 season. I couldn't have asked for a better couple or location to work with. The beautiful Point Defiance Rose Garden in Tacoma, Washington has such beautiful scenery all around from it's rose archway to the Japanese Pagoda and fish pond. The reception hall is a beautiful brick building with beamed ceilings. The Beales made a special trip to Pike's Place the day before their wedding.
